Appearance: Average in height and lean with a light, but solid build to him. He has solid black hair, the back of it coming out in a bit of a spiky manner, this version of Zack's hair going almost to mid-back. His eyes are blue with a bit of green tint due to an exposure to something called Mako from the Template he lived in. On his shoulders are black pads for a bit of added protection, his regular outfit being perhaps a dark blue bordering on black. He has a friendly look about him, and carries about with confidence and pride.
Two easy to notice things about him (aside from those brilliantly shining eyes) is his large Buster Sword which is strapped to his back, and an "x" shaped scar on his left cheek.
Personality: Laid back, for the most part. At certain times though, he can become a bit excited, depending on what happens or what he hears. He's fairly optimistic, as well as being quite friendly and outgoing. His will is strong, and he has no issue with fighting for a cause he believes in; even if that means he does so until he draws what could possibly be his final breath. He shows faith in people, and while I wouldn't say he'd blindly trust, he doesn't really show mistrust in people either, even if he just meets them. Unless he gets some sort of feeling about them from the way they act or behave, then he has no issue.
A main trait that is easily noticeable is his loyalty to his friends, even going so far as to help or befriend their other friends. A kind and generous person, but he isn't without his faults. His friend's enemies are his own, since the ones he knows or considers such are good in one way or another. To him, there is no way they would misjudge someone or go about causing problems...unless it's a super special case, of course. Mess with them, and you're messing with him; yet, he can understand if they want to handle something theirself. Doesn't mean he's going to listen, though. He can be kind of stubborn sometimes.
A last thing to mention is that he can also be flirtatious, and is most definitely self-confident. Also, this Zack isn't as gullible as his other, and does his best to think on something before doing it. That doesn't always work, though...
Abilities/Strengths: Being a product of SOLDIER, and being in 1st Class, Zack is a lot stronger than his small frame makes him seem. He's a quick one too, and has fairly decent reflexes. His skill with his sword is pretty good, and to an extent, he makes up his own moves as he goes along. If equipped with Materia, he can also use that, whatever the magic type may be. His will and connections with his friends can spur him on in fights as well, encouraging him to fight on, to carry on.
Weaknesses: He can, even at the age he is at, be a bit...impatient with some things. Mostly this concerns battle or if a friend is in danger. If they're close to him, or he at least cares for them, one would be hard pressed to stop him from coming to the rescue. This in itself is a bit of a fault, as it can make him far too restless, and take away any bit of common sense he may have. The best way to him is through his friends. A great strength, and a terrible weakness. Also, despite being better than your average human, he isn't immortal OR super-super-strong. This doesn't mean he can't hold down a fight, but he's by no means perfect.
History: Born in a very small village called Gongaga, Zack was raised well by his parents. At least, as good as one could be raised in such a small place. Not even their houses were really houses, they resembled huts at best. Unable to be contained by the limits of the village, he eventually left to join SOLDIER, likely as soon as he was able to. He was placed under the guidance of Angeal Hewley, and eventually made it to SOLDIER's First Class. It was sometime before or after this that he met Aerith Gainsborough and courted her, the two becoming an item rather quick. Not too long after, he went on a mission with Sephiroth and a couple of guards, one of them being a friend of his named Cloud Strife. Their mission was to investigate some problems with a reactor in Cloud's hometown of Nibelheim.
They got rid of whatever monsters got in their way as they were guided along the mountain's paths by Tifa Lockheart, a friend of Cloud's. They fixed the problem, but unfortunately, after a discussion of how SOLDIERS became SOLDIERS, something snapped within Sephiroth. After reading and piecing together what the silver haired General had thought to be facts, he snapped and burned down Nibelheim, killing townsfolk if they tried to stop him, or if they had even crossed his path. Zack spotted Sephiroth from a distance and hurried after him, tracking him to the reactor where everything had started this whole mess for them. It was there that he saw Tifa, kneeled at the slain corpse of her father. Vowing her hatred for Sephiroth and all things Shinra, she grabbed Sephiroth's Masamune, which had been laying at her father's side, and ran off to go face him.
Zack moved quickly, but had only made it just in time to see Tifa struck down after she attempted to use Sephiroth's own sword against him. Zack moved Tifa out of the way and ran ahead, everything having felt like a blur to him. After a quick battle, Zack was soundly defeated by Sephiroth and was struck down as well. That's when Cloud came in, and after a brief glance around the room, Cloud grabbed the Buster sword and charged Sephiroth with it, who had his back to Cloud and had turned around too late. When Cloud went to check on Tifa, Sephiroth came walking out slowly, carrying the head of Jenova. After Sephiroth passed by them, Zack encouraged Cloud to follow Sephiroth in order to go and finish him off. Cloud did as he was told and rushed off to go and confront Sephiroth. Cloud was dealt a blow, but came back and tossed Sephiroth into a pit of Mako, thinking him defeated.
Soon after, Shinra came to Nibelheim to cover up what had happened, grabbing up Cloud and Zack for observation by Hojo. Five years later, after some planning by Zack, he busted them out around their feeding time. Cloud was completely out of it, and was dragged about by Zack, who had managed to get his Buster sword from within the lab in the Shinra Mansion. He caught them a ride to the outskirts of Midgar, where they continued to walk from there. As soon as Midgar was in their sights, a small group of SOLDIER appeared, ready to take them out. Too busy checking on Cloud after taking some of them out, he was gunned down, and died. Now he has arrived in Template, plenty confused, and looking for answers.
